A governing-law or dispute-resolution clause inside the document wins outright, including when it points somewhere other than India. Where the document is silent, PactSage infers the jurisdiction from what the document itself shows — currency, addresses, stamp paper and sub-registrar entries, GSTIN, PAN, CIN or IFSC numbers, PIN codes, the statutes cited and the script — and only then assumes India, and says that it assumed. It stores both the clause it found and the conclusion it drew, so you can disagree with either.

Eight document types are supported end to end: master services agreements, statements of work, NDAs, vendor agreements, employment contracts, lease and residential rent agreements, sale deeds, and settlement agreements. Each type has its own clause set rather than one flat checklist, so a sale deed is never asked about force majeure and a statement of work is never asked about child custody. A scanned PDF is detected from the image coverage of its pages rather than from how much text it carries, then re-read page by page — which matters because the OCR bundled into most scanners is Latin-script only, and a Devanagari document scanned that way arrives carrying confident nonsense that looks like a successful read. Hindi and Marathi are installed alongside English, and the analysis answers in the language of the document rather than translating it.

Every claim PactSage makes about your document carries a numbered citation that resolves to the passage it came from, and a citation the model invented is stripped rather than shown. Quoted clauses are re-found in the source text and flagged when they cannot be, so a plausible finding with a bad quote is visibly marked instead of quietly trusted. Absence is treated as a finding in its own right — a missing liability cap is reported, not passed over — and obligations and notice windows become dated rows you can query, rather than paragraphs in a chat you have to remember to reread.

It is stored against your account and its contents are sent to third-party AI providers so the service can extract text, analyse terms, build embeddings and answer questions about it. Documents are scoped to the workspace they were uploaded into and reachable only by that workspace's members. Deleting your account removes the documents, the analyses and the search index built from them. The privacy policy sets out the whole path.
